Date: January 23, 2026
Time: 9:00 PM CST
Location: MDEG_24 Network Site
Devices Affected:

  • Grandstream Router (EC:74:D7:7F:96:43)
  • 2 Managed Switches

Incident Summary:
At approximately 8:55 PM CST, a critical alert was received indicating that WAN Port WAN2 on the Grandstream Router (MDEG_24_WAN) had no connection. This triggered an Emergency Network-Level Alert via the monitoring system.

Action Taken:
To mitigate potential service interruption and ensure infrastructure integrity, immediate maintenance was performed, including:

  • Verified physical WAN connectivity and link stability.
  • Accessed Grandstream management interface and confirmed system logs.
  • Applied all available firmware updates on the router and both network switches to address any latent bugs or security vulnerabilities.
  • Rebooted devices in a controlled sequence to avoid downtime.
  • Revalidated WAN connectivity and ensured all network traffic resumed normal operation.

Outcome:

  • WAN2 connectivity successfully restored.
  • Firmware across all devices now running the latest stable release.
  • Network stability and redundancy confirmed through testing and monitoring.

Next Steps:

  • Continue 24-hour observation via monitoring tools for link stability and performance metrics.
  • Schedule follow-up firmware audit across the remaining network assets within 7 days.
